3 Major Reasons why PC Games are Cheaper than Console Games

[Valid RSS feed]  Category Rss Feed - http://www.articlesbacklink.com/rss.php?rss=32
By : Patricia Strasser

PC games are generally cheaper compared to console games because of some factors namely: software used and storage medium.

With the advent of technology, the younger generations are now well-versed when it comes to computer entertainment. Visual satisfaction from computer games is highly guaranteed because of its full graphics effect. It comes in different forms namely personal computer and console games. To understand more about their difference, take a look at the brief overview about the two game types.

Difference between a personal computer game and a console game

Console game

This is an interactive video game that comes as a portable hand-held device that has joysticks or built-in buttons for control. The device is connected to a monitor or a television where the images are displayed. It makes use of a disc; although, as the technology advances, games can now be downloaded online, but for a corresponding amount of fee. Some of the best console devices are Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite, Nintendo DSi and Sony PSP 300.

Personal computer game

Also known as the PC game, these kinds of games are made by game specialists, which are downloadable through Internet.

Although the two share common objective that is to provide diversion, they differ in price due to the following reasons:

Software used

Both the PC and console games are created by game developers through the use of software. Console games are administered by major engines that are copyrighted and legally protected. This kind of game uses complicated software that is not readily modifiable by just any game developer. Unlike console games, PC games are developed out of obtainable software especially intended for creation of video games, which can be easily revised. It can even be distributed immediately after the alteration. This tool makes it easier for the developers to design as many games as he want. At present, huge number of alternative software is now within reach, which makes PC games more affordable compared to console games.

Accessibility

Having a registered name is already a sufficient justification why console games are costly than PC games. While comparing the two, personal computer games are easily pirated by an experienced hacker through a simple process of downloading of files and distributing it to the playing majority for free.

Storage medium

Personal computer games are usually stored in the form of CD, DVD, and floppy disks while, consoles games are sold as cartridge.

Every time a new version of game is released, most of the video game enthusiasts are racing just to grab a piece of it. Regardless of the price, a difference of not more than $10 of the cost does not really matter. They are more after of the quality and the satisfaction it can bring to the users.
