You can create graphs, mailing lists (which can merge into the Microsoft Word Document for printing), beautiful layouts to organize your business with. You can also write code (Visual Basic) to enhance the performance of your worksheet. You can also use it to create invoices and some graphics.
Companies use it to track time clocks for their employees. It is a database that is so easy to use. It comes with rows and columns (to see examples click on the link at the bottom of this article). These rows and columns create cells and it is in each cell that numbers and words are inserts. Each cell has it's own name. For example each column is alphabetized starting with A. Each row is numbered. Therefore you can go to cell B3. B3 is column B, row 3.
You can enter a number in B1, B2, B3 and then in B4 you can actually create what is called a cell formula that adds up those three cells. If you were to type in B4 =sum(B1:B3) and press enter, B4 would show the result of B1 plus B2 plus B3. If you change any of those numbers then B4 will automatically show a different result.
