Do you ever have trouble coming up with ideas for articles? I think pretty much everyone, no matter their skill level or experience, at one time or another asks themselves, “What in the world should I write about this time?” I am convinced of this--if we each had someone telling us exactly what to write about, what points to cover, and what format to write in, our writing productivity would radically increase! Sound helpful, doesn’t it? Well, that’s what I’d like to do for you in this article. This article is for beginners to article marketing (or anyone who is having a hard time figuring out what to write about). In this article I will tell you what to write about for your next 3 articles. These 3 types of articles that I’m about to outline are very easy to write and also provide useful information to your readers. *Article 1* => Word count goal: 500-800 words => Your target reader: Someone who is on the verge of being interested in your topic but is not quite sure what it’s about. => Instructions: Write an article that introduces someone to your topic. Remember your topic is always the general subject matter of your website. For example, if you are a snow ski instructor, your website subject matter is snow skiing and all of your articles should be on some aspect of that general topic. => Possible points to cover: What is your topic? How do you do it? Why do you do it? Where do you do it? What are the benefits? Are there any drawbacks or cautions? Try to think of any questions that a beginner would ask about your topic, and include the answer in your article. *Article 2* => Word count goal: 500-800 words => Instructions: Write a “How To” article--an article that teaches your reader how to do something associated with your topic. Not sure what to teach? Think about any areas of common confusion in your niche. Is there anything that people routinely ask you to teach them to do? Here are some examples--if you are an accountant, a great “how to” article would be “How To Create a Budget”. If you are a runner, a good article would be “How To Run a Marathon”. If you are a business coach, a helpful article would be “How To Market Your Business For Free”. You get the idea! *Article 3* => Word count goal: 500-800 words => Instructions: Write a “list” article (Top 10 List, Top 5 List, etc) List articles are some of the most popular articles on the net. Why? They are simply easier to read. Online readers are skimming articles for information most of the time--they appreciate an article that is formatted in a way that will let them glean helpful or interesting facts as quickly as possible. Here are some ideas for list articles: 1) Provide your top 5 tips for doing something associated with your niche. Let’s say you’re a golf instructor--your article could be “Top 5 Tips for Improving Your Golf Swing”. 2) Do you want your readers to do something specific (start a vegetable garden, have their pets wear sweaters)? Then you could do a “reason’s why” list article. For example: “10 Reasons Why You Should Start A Vegetable Garden” “7 Reasons Your Dog Should Wear A Sweater” You can elaborate as much as you’d like on each of your list items. Oh, and remember to include an introductory and concluding paragraph. I hope these suggestions have been helpful to you. Save yourself some stress--just use these ideas to write your next 3 articles.
