Advice on garden sheds

There are several things to consider before purchasing a garden shed. Of course, you need to decide what you intend to use the shed for. You may be in need of storage space for your lawn mower and various other pieces of equipment that would require a door large enough to fit those items through. If you are looking for a garden shed to simply store garden tools, potting soil, pots, and relatively small items, you will not need a double door.

Obviously, the price of garden sheds vary depending on their size and the type of material the shed is made of. Metal buildings are usually the least expensive option. Wooden sheds have more style options to choose from and are generally more expensive than metal buildings. Resin or plastic buildings such as those made by Rubbermaid fit somewhat in the middle where price is concerned but you do not have as much of a selection of sizes with these sheds.

If you look at the pros and cons of each type of material you need to evaluate the weather resistance of the shed. You want it to be resistant to leaks, mold, and as dent resistant as possible. The resin or plastic style shed fulfills those requirements.

Metal buildings are not as durable or as weather resistant as the resin sheds. Leaks are sometimes a problem. They do not come in as many styles as wood or resin sheds and are designed more for function that appearance.

If you are looking for a garden shed that will enhance the appearance of your garden area, a wooden building is probably your best option. A cedar building with a shingled roof would look great in your garden or yard. Depending on the expansiveness of your budget, you can purchase wooden garden sheds with windows and split doors that look as lovely as any child's playhouse would look sitting in your yard.

Unless you buy a shed that is already assembled, you will want to know as much as possible about the assembly process of a garden shed before you buy it. Some sheds have space available for shelves but the shelves are sold separately. You should probably go ahead and buy the largest shed your budget allows for rather than get a small one only to find out you need a larger shed or possibly an additional shed later on.
