You'll do fine strumming along all by yourself and singing along. The sheer number of street performers around the world are a testament to how quickly and easily you can be performing in public with an acoustic guitar. If you are worried about how learn the guitar, there are plenty of ways. You can buy a book, take a class at you local community college, or you can sign up for any number of courses available through the Internet. One of the main reason that people love these Internet courses is you go at your own pace. You can repeat certain modules as often as you like, and skim through others. They also usually contain many different videos, which have long been known to be fantastic teaching aids. If you have any desire whatsoever to play the acoustic guitar, there really is no reason why you can't get started today. With your guitar, and a set of lessons picked out, it's only a matter of time before you'll be on the street corner belting out your favorite tune.
