Why Not Visit Blackpool This Year, The Home Of The English Seaside Holiday

[Valid RSS feed]  Category Rss Feed - http://www.articlesbacklink.com/rss.php?rss=174
By : Harwood E    Blackpool is the number one holiday vacation in England for British tourists. No matter what time of year you go and no matter what the weather conditions are you will always find some hardy tourists facing the storms and gales whilst taking a stroll on the promenade. The great attraction too many of Blackpool is the fact that there really is something there for people of all ages to do.

In the summer the vast amount of the tourists head for the beach if the weather is good enough or else they head for the vast and famous Blackpool Pleasure Beach which is a paradise for those thrill seekers who love roller-coasters and thrill rides. The Blackpool Pleasure Beach is the home to The Big One, Europe’s tallest roller-coaster. At 235ft high and reaching a maximum speed of 74 miles per hour it certainly is not for the faint hearted. From almost anywhere in Blackpool you can see this giant roller coaster rising up from the Pleasure Beach.

The other giant landmark that is visible from all over Blackpool and on the horizon as you drive in is the famous Blackpool Tower. As is obvious for all to see, the Blackpool Tower was inspired by the Eiffel Tower in Paris and construction of the Tower was commenced in 1891. Construction of the Tower was completed in 1894 and has been open for business ever since. Standing at 518 feet tall it is not surprising that you can see the Tower from wherever you are in Blackpool. Blackpool Tower has many attractions inside it and is well worth a visit when you are there.

Blackpool is generally thought of as the good time capital of the north of England as each weekend throughout the year thousands of party goers turn up to drink and dance the weekend away in some of the many bars, pubs and clubs that there are in Blackpool. Blackpool is also the hen and stag do capital with more hen and stag nights held in Blackpool than anywhere else in England.

Other than in the peak holiday months you should never having any trouble finding accommodation in Blackpool, whether you want to stay in one of Blackpool’s many famous bed and breakfast establishments and experience the famous land lady owners that interrogate you about your comings and goings off the previous night or whether you would rather stay in one of the many seafront hotels which are all the way up the promenade and are generally pretty reasonably priced.

Whether you are traveling with a group of friends or as a family going on a week’s vacation Blackpool has something to offer everyone but if you tire of all of the noise and glamor that Blackpool will throw at you then you can always hop into your car and take a journey north on the coast road and visit the lovely little town of Morecambe and admire its splendid bay which, when the weather is good is absolutely spectacular.

Further inland there is the Lake District which offers both rugged beauty, stunning scenery and quaint little towns that are generally packed with hikers and ramblers who are just setting off for a trek in the hills.

Blackpool is accessed easily by the motorways and by trains and is in easy reach of most parts of England. All year round there is something going on in Blackpool but obviously as the colder months set in it does quieten down quite a lot so if you prefer a bit of peace and quiet rather than the boom, boom, boom of discos with flashing lights maybe this is the time of year for you to visit the home of the English seaside holiday.
