When I was a sales rep for another business they seem to run it with an attitude of if it was not broke break it. That made me think today about how many online marketers approach their internet business. It seems to me their motto is more like this: "If it is broke do not fix it!" Does that describe you? Here's an example of what I'm speaking about. If you had a carpet cleaning business would you go two years without earning any money? How crazy would it be when someone asked you what you did for a living and you replied, "I have my own carpet cleaning business." They then asked how that was going for you and you said, "I have not cleaned a carpet for over 2 years!" Yet that is exactly what many Internet marketers do with their own business. There are people who have claimed to have been in business now for several years and have never made any money. To me that it is one of the most crazy things I've ever heard. How can you truly believe you have a real internet business if you do not make money after your initial startup? It is only natural that it may take you a few months to get your business off the ground. There certainly is a learning curve to starting and running a successful Internet business. Even after you have launched your business getting quality traffic can be a challenging task for many Internet business owners. But there is no way it will take you several years if you are really serious about doing it. You really need to analyze what your business goals are and how you spend your time every day. If you have been in business for several months, and are not making any money, than your Internet business is broke and it's time to fix it. Doing the same thing over and over and not getting any results is not the way to run any business. Somewhere along the line there are aspects of your business that are broken and need fixing right away. I like to tell people to get their website or blog set up and monetized and then spend the majority of their time working on traffic. When you are getting quality visitors to your website on a consistent basis you can spend more time on converting them into customers to make you money. I hope your Internet business motto is not "if it's broke don't fix it!" However if this describes you need to start fixing it.
