A List of Gluten Free Foods to Avoid Celiac's Disease

Gluten is a protein present in grains like barley, wheat, rye and spelt. As we all know, these grains are common to products that we consume everyday including medicines, vitamins and even lip balms. However, a lot of people doesn't know that too much Gluten in the body could lead to serious diseases.


The most known illness related to gluten is the celiac disease. It is an inflammation of the upper small intestine because of the body's intolerance to gluten. This digestive disorder interferes with the absorption of vital nutrients from the foods eaten and passed them out in stool instead. Imagine what the body will be like if it can't absorb the nutrients in foods eaten. But what food are actually gluten free? Listed below are foods that are gluten free.

Vegetables

All vegetables are gluten free and always safe to eat unless something is added in it like sauce or coating. Check the ingredients of the products to add in a vegetable recipe to ensure that it is really gluten free otherwise look for an alternative.

Here are vegetable that has great natural healing powers: Carrots, spinach, broccoli, kale, dandelion, cabbage. They contain rich amount of vitamins and minerals that helps the body fight from diseases from high blood pressure and cancer.

Fruits

Like vegetables, fresh and unprocessed fruits are safe to eat and are gluten free. Instead of having sandwiches, pizza, hamburgers and other fast foods that are surely loaded with gluten, fruits will be a good substitute as snacks.

Some of the highly nutritious fruits that should be included in the list are apples, kiwi, cherries, guavas, bananas, blueberries, blackberries, pomegranates, oranges and mangoes.

Dairy Products

Most dairy products are also gluten free except blue cheese. Butter, cheese, milk and yoghurt are safe for those who have gluten intolerance.

Grains and Flour

It may seem impossible to find gluten free products that are made of grains and flour in the nearest stores. Commonly, bread, chips, pasta and other goodies are made of wheat, barley, rye and oats. There are however specialty store selling different kinds of products that are gluten free. They have many array list of gluten free foods from dessert, snacks and even body and hair care.

Flours that are gluten free includes: Amaranth flour, arrowroot flour, brown rice flour, buckwheat flour, chick pea flour, cornmeal, maize flour, millet flour, potato flour, potato starch flour, Quinoa flour, sorghum flour, soya flour, tapioca flour, teff flour, white rice flour.

Gluten free diet is hard to maintain but let this list of gluten free foods be the guide to have a healthier life.
