How To Keep Your Mornings Stress Free

If waking up and getting ready for work or school seems like the most stressful part of the day in your home, there are changes you can make to reduce the chaos. There is nothing worse than having your alarm go off and not feeling calm again until you are sitting at work. What is even worse is if you have a naturally stressful job, so your morning starts off crazy and things just continue that way until you fall into bed at night. Over time, this stress is going to build up and can lead to serious health problems. At the very least, you will not feel happy and fulfilled if every day brings the same stress-filled chaos. Even if you are dealing with a job that is stressful, you can start the day right with a stress-free morning. Having a calm, organized approach to your day can help you get started on the right foot and keep you level-headed all day long. The first thing you should do is create an organized space in which to ready yourself. Install a shelf storage cabinet or bath storage cabinets so everything you need is at your fingertips while getting ready each morning.

Choosing your clothes the night before can save you a lot of time and stress in the morning. If you know exactly what you will be wearing and everything is assembled in one place, you will not have to waste time running around looking for an important article of clothing. When arranging your clothes for the next day, remember socks, underwear and accessories, as these are the items most of us are digging for at the last-minute when getting dressed.

If you take your lunch to work or if your children bring their lunch to school from home, try packing these items the night before. You can have everything in your paper bag or lunch box, sitting in the refrigerator just waiting for you to grab it on your way out the door. This means that even if you are running late, you will have a nutritious lunch all ready to go.

If you are one of those people who time seems to slip away from, consider setting your clock ten minutes ahead. You can convince yourself you are getting up on time, but in reality, you are building in a few extra minutes to get things done. If you know you will abuse those extra ten minutes when the alarm goes off, try having a family member set your clock forward an undetermined number of minutes. For example, it can be set anywhere from five to fifteen minutes ahead, but you will not know. This way, you will have to assume you only have a few extra minutes and get moving as if the time were right.

Finally, if you have kids, let them take on some of the morning rush. They may be able to let te dog out, pack their own lunch, pack lunches for the family or make breakfast for everyone. Even if their help is limited, it can still save a few minutes and cut down on the morning chaos.
