No longer a dirty thing, buying used is now seen as a rather reasonable and even quite agreeable alternative to paying top dollar for what is functionally equivalent and thus essentially the same thing. It may even be practically brand-new, actually, if it has also been "refurbished," which means rebuilt to brand-new specifications. Though more and more synonymous, some vendors still make the distinction between the merely "used" and the specifically "refurbished" (or "rebuilt"). So be sure to inquire as to any differences when considering purchasing pre-owned cell phones. "Used" may simply mean "pre-owned" and not even "pre-owned and tested to perform like new," but "refurbished" always means "pre-owned and rebuilt where necessary to perform and even sometimes look like new."
Buying used Verizon cell phones is a great way to own the latest technology without the latest prices. Whereas dumpster diving is definitely getting yesterday's food or yesterday's fashion in clothes and furniture, purchasing a used or refurbished cell phone is a smart way to obtain today's technology at yesterday's prices.
