Selling diamonds are either profitable or something to think twice about. Mainly because there is a lot of buyers who will try to get your diamonds at the cheapest price possible. Next would be selling your diamonds if it's a family heirloom or something with sentimental value. This would be two of the main factors that you need to think about thoroughly before selling those thousand dollar "rocks". Looking for the Right Buyer Now this is quite the tricky part. Looking for a reputable diamond buyer is quite a dime a dozen. To make sure that you will get the highest price possible, try to sell diamonds to a friend or relative who's been lusting over your diamonds. Usually they're the ones who will offer you the best price. Another option is to offer your diamonds at a reputable store. Probably the last profitable option would be to sell diamonds to a local diamond retailer. Though they offer an acceptable amount, do not expect a hefty amount since they would also sell your diamonds to another person or store. Auctions are also being considered by some sellers to be another outlet for diamond selling. Though it doesn't involve fast cash, there is a possibility that you can get twice the value if the diamond is in a rare color or has some historical background. Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend To sell diamonds is a big no-no for women. Diamonds are always associated with luxury and glamour. They symbolize wealth and beauty to the lucky girls who wear them at events and social gatherings. It is often said that every girl should own at least one diamond piece to make her standout in a crowd. Since diamonds are that highly coveted to women, it is very seldom to see a woman selling diamonds for cash. Usually, they would rather pawn them so they can still get the chance to redeem it in the future. Know your Diamond's Value Once you've decided to sell diamonds for a living you should know the A-B-C's of the trade. Diamonds enthusiasts usually grade diamonds using "The 4 C's". Diamonds will be tested for their Color, Cut, Clarity and their Carat Weight. Cut will be graded on how the diamond will look after the cutting process. Color is the overall tint from yellow to white. Clarity is measured by being FL or Flawless or I3 which means the diamonds has a lot of inclusions. Last would be Carat Weight, meaning that the diamond will be put on a diamond scale. Of course these are only the basics of diamond grading. At least now you already have an idea on how the business work should you pursue a career to sell diamonds.
