The gaseous state is one of three fundamental physical states of matter. It is in this form that some chemical elements are in demand and extremely practical in every industry. Nitrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide, oxygen, argon and other gases are contained in steel cylinders so that they will be useful to people and commerce. Gas cartridges are little versions of the larger gas cylinders. These cartridges are made smaller for personal transport and availability. There are no major differences between the two except their sizes. This way, different gasses in their liquid and pressurized form can be made available to households, camping trips, school experiments, and other activities wherein the heavier cylinders cannot easily be transported to. They are more suited to personal use and they are ideal for situations that call for mobility and convenience. Households can use them in kitchens to update numerous dishes and drinks. Gas cartridges are helpful tools to have in the garage for inflating bicycle tires and for fumigating pest-ridden corners in the backyard. They are more expensive than other fumigants, but more effective in generating excellent results. When fumigating activities poses risks to children and pets, gas cartridges are better alternatives to control and prevent the damaging effects. The occasional camping trip could use one for frozen food storage. Outdoor dining would be enhanced with freshly prepared velvety soups and whipped cold creams; because no one ever said picnics could not be gourmet. Further, one time users find it cheaper and more practical to buy cartridges rather than its counterpart cylinders. Gas cylinders are more favorable for use over a long period of time and are more convenient for industries that require large quantities of particular gases such as restaurants, medical laboratories and facilities, oil companies, manufacturing and other industries. Some gases need special licenses for use and distribution. They are available only to specific industries which will manufacture or process it for safe public consumption. Whether it is a gas cylinder or a gas cartridge, they always come with labels. It would normally contain data involving storage and handling, exposure controls, personal protection, first aid measures, ingredients and hazard identification, toxicological and environmental information, and all pertinent details that are required by law to be revealed to the public. These facts and figures are necessary to guide every consumer of the consequences of using or abusing these kinds of products. It is for the protection of both consumer and his or her environment. These wonderful inventions should be handled carefully and, as much as possible, kept out of reach from children. Competent adult supervision should also be indispensable if children and even novice users are involved in their use. Always wear protective gears when handling these gases. They are volatile chemicals. Sudden drop or increase of temperature, application of pressure, heat, and other outside activities may affect their behavior with undesirable results. It is wise to always read labels carefully in order to make the most of gas cylinders in everyday use.
