Some characteristics found in black hair distinguish it from straighter hair types. Black hair has a distinctive composition that makes it sensitive to breakage. The reason that black hair often dries out is because its structure and kinkiness prevents the scalp's oil from moisturizing all strands of hair. Natural products such as Argan oil for hair can improve the health and look of dark hair, as well as other oil treatments. Oil treatments that moisturize the hair As over-moisturizing can cause the hair to become soft and spongy, moisturizing black hair can be rather tricky. Yet, lack of moisture can also cause breakage, split-ends and brittle hair. It is recommended to use natural oils such as olive oil or grape seed to moisturize the hair. After treating your hair with your chosen moisturizing product, apply a quarter-sized amount of grape seed oil or olive oil. To apply, place some oil in your palm then rub it into your hair. Distribute it evenly throughout your hair including the tips. Oil treatments for hair elasticity Your hair's elasticity helps prevent breakage and fall-out. Use oils that help make your hair more pliable and soft. To moisturize at the same time soften your hair, use jojoba oil or sweet almond oil. You can choose to include these oils into your daily hair care routine or every 2 days. Hot oil treatments Warm oil therapies are remarkable in conditioning the hair as well as making it softer. Heavy natural oils like coconut oil, avocado oil or olive oils are great for hot oil treatments. You can heat the oil any way you like before applying it to your hair and massaging it into your scalp. Apply the oil entirely on your hair, from the roots to the tips. After the oil is applied, wrap your hair in a towel and sit under a dryer for fifteen minutes. Essential oil hair therapies To soften and moisturize your hair, use essential oils such as rosemary oil. They stimulate oil circulation and secretion in the scalp. Rosemary oil can also help darken hair that is graying. Add essentials oils to your everyday routine, or to your hot oil treatments. Leave-on oil hair treatments There are also several natural oils that you can leave on your hair without rinsing after the application. Almond oil, jojoba oil and grape seed oil are natural oils that are great as leave-on moisturizers for the hair because they are very light. For people that do not want to spend a lot of time putting on an oil treatment before washing, leave-on oil treatments serve them well and are great for daily applications. Treat your hair well and invest in the right hair care products.
