Keeping Entertained Outside Of Your Florida Beachfront Condo

After you've realized the many benefits of living in Florida, it's only a matter of time before you get tired of lying on the beach every weekend. A Florida beachfront condo is beautiful, but after awhile, it's time to step off the sand and enjoy all the fun attractions and activities available in the South Florida area.

If you just can't tear yourself away from the beach, there are a plethora of things to do above and below the water. Snorkeling, scuba diving, swimming with dolphins, and fishing off a boat are a given. The more adventurous might want to try windsurfing or jet skiing. For those who would prefer a more peaceful activity, rent a kayak at one of the dozens of parks located in the area.

With such beautiful weather year-round, visit one of the many national parks. One of the most famous parks is the Everglades National Park. Not only can you enjoy a nice hike through the subtropical climate, but you can also see the Florida Panther, American Crocodile, and West Indian Manatee. To enjoy more underwater creatures, visit the Biscayne National Park which is 99% underwater. They offer three hour glass-bottom boat tours every day. Getting a bit hungry after all that walking and watching? Go to the Fruit and Spice Park just south of Miami. They have over fifty varieties of mangoes and bananas, as well as many other exotic fruits and vegetables.

Museums and art galleries are sprinkled all over South Florida. Leave your Pompano Beach condos to visit the Wolfsonian Museum located in Miami. It exhibits propaganda art from the late 1800s to the 1940s. Science lovers have quite a selection in the South Florida region. There is the South Florida Science Museum, the Museum of Discovery and Science, Buelher Planetarium, and the Miami Museum of Science and Planetarium. Kids can enjoy the Children's Science Explorium in Boca Raton.

There are plenty of historical museums as well, such as the Bay of Pigs Museum which has a collection of artifacts and memoirs from the Cold War Era, the Missile Crisis, the Bay of Pigs invasion, and Operation Mongoose. The Historical Museum of Southern Florida is actually the largest private history museum in the country. It has over 1,900 maps, 500,000 photographs, and over 12,000 local artifacts.

Kids can enjoy some fun entertainment too and they don't have to go all the way to Disney World to get it. There are waterparks, zoos, and theme parks to enjoy. Coconut Grove Waterpark is great for those a little further north. Get closer to the Miami area and visit Parrot Jungle Island or the Miami MetroZoo to see some wildlife.

Nightclubs and restaurants are everywhere and a perfect getaway for the adults. So when you're tired of hanging around the Florida beachfront condo all day, take advantage of all the wonderful places to visit in South Florida.
