Bugs Have Invaded My Home

These obnoxious little bugs look like a miniature prehistoric monster does look weird in its armor- plated uniform which comes in various colors from bright green to muddy brown. They are indeed well-armed and ready to invade our homes, gardens and crops and make life miserable for everyone concerned. Unless you take defensive action before they get too cozy and settle down, it will be all out war and believe me, it will be the insects that will emerge victorious. Studies are being conducted to find stink bug control methods and to determine how to get rid of stink bugs.

A little negligence on your part is enough for this smelly pest to sneak in to your home and make himself comfortable; and before you know what is happening, there will be armies of them clinging to your bed linens, climbing the walls, creeping into your clothes and even smirking from the top of your wardrobe until the only thing you are left to do is scream with all the strength in your lungs or put a torch to your home. Yes. They can be that bad and once "in" getting rid of these creatures will prove one of the most difficult tasks you ever attempted.

So who or what are these pesky monsters and where did they come from? It is believed that they arrived from China along with Chinese goods and having found their new homeland very satisfactory for their existence, settled down to breed and breed and breed; apparently something they are said to be extremely good at. New Jersey unfortunately has been one of the places worse hit by these insects with warm weather and enough good food to eat having made it the ideal location for their reproduction.

Usually being vegetarian, they think nothing of feasting on your evergreens and orchards while many cotton farmers in the Southeast have been plagued by these creepy little monsters who think nothing of destroying a crop and becoming a real nuisance to those who make a living out of agriculture. If destroying crops and plants is not bad enough, as soon as night falls, they try their luck inside a house seeking warmth and of course the thousands of niches they can find to settle down. The only thing you can be happy about is; these pests do not bite and for some reason they do not get up to any funny business inside a home and try to reproduce.

But beware, you might be happier if it did bite or sting, because if you try to mess with it, it will give you the worse punishment ever by using the glands in his thorax to emit the most obnoxious foul-smelling substance as a way of protecting himself. These nasty insects smell like nothing you can imagine, unless it is compost or rotten eggs, rancid oil and moldy fruit. If attacked, they can also fly straight at you, although they cannot bite since they have no teeth.

So, if you do spy this annoying insect grinning at you from the T-shirt you were about to put on, do not panic, do not scream; just put the shirt down, walk out calmly and run as fast as you can to get help from someone who knows all about these creatures and especially about this particular species, because only an expert will be able to help you now.
