Why Choose To Rent An Apartment In Paris And Not A Hotel?

Paris is one of the world's most visited cities - and with good reason. The French capital is well known for its food, art and fine living as well as being home to some of the most instantly recognized monuments in the world. There are plenty of hotels to choose from, although Paris apartment rentals make an affordable and practical alternative to those often overpriced, cramped and anonymous hotel rooms.

The center of Paris is divided into 18 districts and each one has its own distinct flavor and character. Apartments can be found all over Paris and you will want to give some thought as to the type of neighborhood you want to be in. For example, the 1st arrondissement is home to the Louvre and expensive fashion stores, the 5th is a lively area, frequented by students and the 18th is known for its rather risqué nightlife and artistic associations. Regardless of where you choose to stay, you are never more than a short walk from a Metro station. And the city's efficient, clean and safe Metro can get you to the other side of the city in a matter of minutes.

The biggest advantage of staying in an apartment is that it provides a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the life of the city and be a resident for the length of your stay, rather than just a tourist. Imagine shopping at the neighborhood bakery, butcher's shop and cheese shop every day, just as Parisians regularly do, or sipping a drink at your neighborhood cafe. Staying in an apartment is generally cheaper than a hotel, especially if you have several people in your group and are staying for a week or more.

Paris apartments can have one, two or more bedrooms and come fully furnished, with heating, television, a bath or shower and all the amenities that you need. Many also boast beautiful period features and architectural details, as well as a balcony or verandah. It is true that many European kitchens are smaller than their American counterparts are, but in Paris, this simply gives you an excuse to go out and eat in what is considered to be the food capital of the world.

Whether you are visiting the City of Light for a week, a month or longer, Paris apartment rentals allow you to really experience this most magical of cities the way its residents do.
