General Health Tips For All

1. New Rule - No Television Allowed For Two Nights Per Week

Just as you limit your child's TV time, you also need to limit your own. Do you realize how much more you will be able to get done if you are not glued to your television set. Think of all the extra time you will have to read, tidy those long overdue cupboards, scrapbook those photographs and of course make some extra profits online from home.

2. Set your alarm to get up a half hour earlier

We all tend to run out of time in the mornings and end up rushing. Start your day with some alone time to focus on your day and what you want to achieve, before rushing off to do all your chores. This will make a vast difference to your day and give you more direction.

3. Write a List and Shop only once a week

Plan ahead and shop for the week, and in this way you will save both money and time. This will also prevent you from snacking on unhealthy snacks that you will be tempted to buy if you shop daily. Shopping online is also a huge time saver.

4. Drink more water

Start your day off with two liters of water on your desk and take regular sips throughout the day. By finishing your bottle, you will have consumed the recommended eight glasses of water a day.

5. Pack your own lunch for work

You will make healthier choices and save money at the same time. If you spend just R30 a day on food and coffee, this amounts to a staggering R 7 200.00 by the end of the year.

6. Find time to exercise each day

Most of us use the excuse that we don't have time to exercise, or that we are too tired by the end of the day to still go to the gym. There are lots of ways to exercise throughout the day in short bursts that will help you to get your exercise in. Try walking up the stairs instead of using the elevator. Take a brisk walk at lunch time. Do some stretches at your desk every hour. Stretch and use weights while watching television. Over the weekends, do family outings that involve some sort of activity, like swimming, playing cricket, hiking or even walking or running on the beach. You will be amazed at just how much physical activity you will be able to fit in if you put your mind to it.

7. Get enough rest

Most importantly, make sure you get enough sleep. You will perform much better at work and be more productive if you are well rested and you will be able to focus much better on the tasks at hand.

Just making small changes to your lives can make a huge difference in your overall health and well being, and bring you the focused results that you have been dreaming of.
