Rugs are more than just piece of material on the floor. They are used to decorate your home and enhance the décor. You can also use them to electrify different rooms in your home. If one of your rooms looks crowded, having the right kind of rug placed in there can make it more spacious. If you want the room to feel open and free, use patterns that are simple, light colors or very few designs. You will see a change in how the room looks once you make those adjustments. Using deeper and darker colors can make a room feel cozy and warm. You want people to feel comfortable when they come to visit. Smaller rugs do better when you are trying to show off or subdue the flooring in your home. You can choose soft colors or pieces with different tones to bring it out a bit. You want people to really see what they look like. You can also use pieces that give a "wow" effect by using colors or patterns that will bring out that excitement. You can also make the rug look more subdued by using a large one along with strong colors or patterns. You may have a theme for some of the rooms in your home. Get rugs that will complement the rooms in your home. The theme should match with the kind of rug that you are putting there. If you have a rustic or Southwestern themed room, a Navajo or Mexican rug would be a good choice to complement the rest of the décor. Anything else that is not connected to the theme would be out of place. You can also use different colors instead of the culture to highlight the room. Children can learn and stimulate their mind if they have rugs in their bedroom. Even if they use them at school, that would help them in the learning process. Children don't have problems remembering colors and they are able to take what they've learned to the next level. If you have children, think about getting pieces for their bedroom where it can establish teachable moments for them. Include letters, numbers, patterns and different shapes. It's amazing what can be done when you put your mind to it and be creative. It just goes to show that rugs are definitely an essential part of your home for more than just being there.
