One popular product that seems to have no end in it's popularity is replica guns. These seem to be the latest rage. If you haven't gotten some of these toys yet, you should. If you do have some of these toys, then I've got a couple of great ideas for some games that you can play with your friends. As long as you use safety precautions, especially eye and face protection, you'll be good to go, and you'll likely have the time of your life.
One game that my buddy recently made up is called "prison break," after the popular TV show. Depending on the size of your group, you choose two, three, or four guys who will pretend to be the escaped convicts. They are only allowed to carry handguns, with ten BBs each. This, of course, is what would happen in a real life situation. The rest of you, pretending to be the wardens and the posse, can have rifles and shotguns. Of course, it goes without saying that this game requires full protective gear at all times.
The game begins when the escapees run into an open area. It's best if the open area is partially protected by hills or trees. If you can play on an officially designed airsoft playing field, that would be ideal. Otherwise, you'll have to make sure there aren't any kids or pets around. A few of you may have to stand guard around the playing field just to be sure. You choose a "safe" zone a good distance away. If the escapees reach the safe zone before capture, they win. If you catch them before they reach the safe zone, then you win.
One more game that is similar to this is a variation on the old cops and robbers game. Choose one or two guys to be the burglars, and the rest of you can the police. Send in the burglars into a house, where they have to find several previously hidden items. These items are the "loot" that they must get and escape. Of course, make sure you get the homeowners permission when you play this. If the robbers can the loot and make a clean getaway, they win. If you catch before they get the loot and escape, then you win. Just be careful not to break anything.
Yet another fun game is a variation, or several variations, of the old target practice game. You simply set up some targets, and come up with different ways of keeping points. If you have some rifles that can be set on automatic, then you can set up several targets, ten or more, and see who can hit them all in the least amount of time. If you have some sniper rifles, then you can set up some targets a long ways away, and see who can hit all the targets in the least amount of shots. There are plenty of more ways you can play this if you use your imagination.
These are just a few games that me and my friends play with these guns. I'm sure that you can dream up many more.
