How to Take Care of Your Teeth: Dental Hygiene Products and More

No one wants to wear dentures when they're old. They sit in a glass of water on your bedside and they smell and are uncomfortable and you can't eat your favorite foods, and they have to be cleaned like ordinary teeth but they're fake. This article will give you tips about how to take care of your teeth with dental hygiene products and dentists supplies so that you don't experience pain and discomfort later in life.

1. Brush twice daily: How much you brush really does make a difference - it helps to do so after every meal. Each tooth has five sides: a front, back, two sides and a chewing side. It's important to clean each one, especially the back ones at the gum line.

2. How to brush: Hold the toothbrush at a 45 degree angle to dislodge plaque while brushing. You can only clean three of the five sides while brushing, the others must be cleaned with floss. You don't need much toothpaste, all it takes is an amount the size of a pea. As long as you spend a good two minutes brushing around the gum line you don't even need toothpaste, but it has added agents that help your teeth stay white.

3. Floss: Flossing helps to remove the plaque and gunk found in between teeth and around the gum line. Up and down and pay attention to your molars as well.

4. Dentist: Visit your dentist every 6 months. He has dentist supplies that will make your teeth feel clean again. The scrapers he uses remove tartar, which you cannot remove on your own. Plus, he will give you individualized tips about how to clean your teeth and take care of them.

5. Tongue scraper: The culprit behind bad breath is bacteria that grows on your tongue. When you scrape it off, you can actually see how that white gunk covers the pink of your tongue underneath.

6. Mouthwash: A fluoride mouthwash strengthens the enamel on your teeth. It can also rid your mouth of excess dirt that you may have missed along the way. Buy toothpaste that has fluoride also.

7. Watch what you eat and drink: Sweet sugary foods have a higher propensity to stick to your teeth and form cavities. Sodas, teas, and coffee can stain your teeth. Eat vegetables and drink lots of water to wash your mouth after eating.

Gum disease is linked to serious health problems like diabetes, stroke, heart disease, and other issues. If you follow the above tips, you won't have to worry about gum disease, tooth decay, or worst of all, dentures.
