Wrinkle Removal: Five Ways To Prevent Wrinkles

Let's face it (no pun intended): no one likes getting wrinkles, and more and more people are turning to the best bottom treatments to combat them. So how do wrinkles form, exactly? The skin has several layers, and the middle layer, the dermis, is what holds collagen, which keeps skin looking plump and wrinkle-free. But as you age, the dermis becomes less able to hold collagen, and consequently, skin begins to sag. You can't stop yourself from getting older, there are many other ways to slow the development of wrinkles. Here are five:

1. Be sun smart - Exposure to excessive sunlight is one of the main reasons why people seek wrinkle removal. The sun dries out the skin, so when you're outdoors, it's important to protect your skin from harsh UV rays, which can also cause skin cancer. Always wear a hat when you're outside, and wear SPF sunscreen wherever possible. Sunscreen should be applied about 20 minutes before exposure to sun, and be reapplied regularly, especially if you're in the water or sweating a lot. It's also a good idea to wear sunglasses, because the skin around the eyes is one of the first areas of the face to get wrinkles.

2. Stay hydrated - Water helps keep the skin moist and supple, so be sure to drink plenty of water each day. Fluids like coffee and alcohol dehydrate the skin and the body, so if you're drinking these, it's even more important to drink lots of water.

3. Make moisturizer your friend - It's just as important for your skin to stay hydrated on the outside as it is on the inside. Get into the habit of applying a moisturizer every day, especially at bedtime, and especially during the colder months when the air is dry. Choose a moisturizer that's appropriate for your skin type to prevent any breakouts. Moisturizers containing sunscreen are also available.

4. Quit smoking - Smoking has many harmful effects on the body, including the skin. Smoking can greatly damage the skin's healthfulness, youthfulness and vibrancy because tar and cigarette smoke deprive skin of essential oxygen and nutrients. When you smoke, the skin loses weight, water and fat cells, which leaves the skin looking dry, lifeless and gaunt. Quit smoking, and you'll not only be and feel healthier, you'll look better, too.

5. Live healthy - A healthy lifestyle with regular exercise and a balanced diet is one of the best ways to help ensure healthy, younger-looking skin. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, especially ones rich in nutrients and vitamins A, C, E and K, which are nature's own wrinkle removal remedy.

So, there you have it. You can do your skin a favor by being sun smart, staying hydrated, moisturizing, staying away from cigarettes, and eating and living healthier in general. And when you do get wrinkles, don't stress: there are plenty of wrinkle removal and laser rejuvenation services to help your skin look radiant again.
