When starting any new home business blog, being successful is much easier when you have guidelines, pointers, tips or a track to run on. Also, using these tips will help brand you as one of the best in the industry for your particular niche. Many people consider the number 7 to be a lucky number, a number that brings good fortune. With that in mind, and to bring users good fortune, here are the top seven tips for running a successful home business blog. 1. Original content: What this means is that its important to create your own posts and topics and not just copy and paste from what others have written. Not only will people in your industry know that it's rehashed content, it does nothing to enhance your reputation to be a leader in the industry. Original content is always best! 2. Interactive blog: What we mean is get your readers involved in the blog by asking them to post their comments on your most recent post. You could also put a poll on your site asking them to vote on a particular blog post or question your asking. Keep your readers engaged and a part of the home business blog. 3. Monitor comments: Monitor the comments that your readers leave. One of the biggest turnoffs on a home business blog is see unnecessary spam comments that have not been deleted by the owner. This will drive readers away from your blog. 4. Check your facts: Credibility is crucial to any home business blog. When posting information about a subject, a company review, etc. that they facts have been checked thoroughly for accuracy. 5. Copyright laws: Do not copy and paste an article from another blogger or website that you have seen without giving proper credit to who wrote that article. Failure to do so is violating copyright laws and can get you into some serious legal issues. Everything that is contained on the internet is copyrighted, which a lot of people do not realize. It's always best to create (as discussed in Tip #1) original content. 6. Pleasing to the eye: The more your home business blog is designed nicely with a nice header, images in your posts (along with good content), organized categories for visitors to find what they are looking for, etc. then blog visitors will be more likely to return. 7. Post regularly: Home business blogs that have new content often are more likely to to get more traffic, return visitors, and higher search engine rankings. Posting to your blog a minimum of 3 times a week is sufficient. Not posting regularly will adversely affect your viewership. . When you follow these 7 tips for a home business blog, chances are that you will have more traffic and visitors which is what every blogger wants.
