Every family has an album that is passed on from generation to generation that has sweet memories of yesterday and at the same tells you about your roots and your history. Unfortunately, taking these photos can be a big pain most of the time. Getting people together, organizing the photographing session, etc can become a huge task. Or you could use the services of a good photographer who is trained for such a task. To find a good one take a look at the senior pictures and photographers' directory and you will find plenty to choose from. Some criteria that would qualify this person as a 'good' photographer are outlined below: 1. References -- each one of these photographers would like to have his or her website where references would be listed. Go through each one of the references and check these out where possible to ensure that these are genuine. 2. Experience -- check out for how long he/ she has been in this line. While newcomers can be brilliant too, when you have something of great importance such a family get together to be photographed, it is better that you take no chances. You would not be able to do anything if the photographs do not come out well -- after the family get-together is over and everybody returned to their busy life. 3. Portfolio -- the website would also have a set of photographs that best showcase the style and mastery of the photographer. Look carefully through the photos and judge whether you really like what you see. Are the photographs good? Do they touch your heart? Are these better than you would take with autofocus digital camera? 4. Cost of the services -- this part is important, too. The photographer may be superb, but if he charges an arm and a leg, may be this is not for you. At the same, too cheap should also be rejected for no good photographer would undersell himself/ herself. Find out what the market price is, and settle for a middle path, i.e. not too high and not too low. 5. Location -- while in small counties this might not be an issue, in large cities as Cincinnati this could become a very important criterion. If the photographer is located at the other end of the city, it would really not be in his/ her interest to drive all the way to your location on the standard fees. At the same time, adding the travel cost to the bill would not be a suitable option for you. Hence, it is best to look for great photographers within a comfortable travelling radius from where you pant the photography event. 6. Specialization -- as in any profession, here too you will find various specializations. The photographer might be best at wedding photography, baby photos, senior shooting, and the like. Ensure that you discuss with the prospective photographer and find out whether he or she is confident he or she could cover the event in the best possible way.
