If there's one pattern that I've seen repeated time and time again when it comes to investing in stocks, it's that people over-complicate things. Many people think that they need to find some "secret" to make money and often try complex strategies that simply end up costing them money. In reality, keeping it simple is often the best way to profit from stocks! Let's face it, making money in the stock market is a goal of most people. They say money can't buy you happiness, but it sure can make life easier! And for many people, besides their fulltime job, they don't have another source of income. Stock trading offers an opportunity to earn more money. Now before you go hunting for some elaborate technique or trading strategy, remember that there's plenty of money to be made from following a simple yet effective trading technique. When you find something that works, you don't have to reinvent the wheel. If it's making money, why tinker with it? I've seen too many people go broke doing this. There's lots of people that make tremendous money day trading stocks. They will buy and sell stocks throughout the day and it's not uncommon for them to execute dozens, even hundreds of trades daily. However, keep in mind that these people do this as their fulltime job. They spend their workday in front of their computers, constantly analyzing the markets and new information that comes out. Most people aren't able to monitor the markets all day long. In this case making several trades a day isn't typically a good strategy. These people should be looking for trades that they are comfortable holding for a longer time period. You need to make sure that the trading strategy you use takes into consideration the amount of time you have to monitor the markets. If you're trying to be a day trader but only have 30 minutes a day to devote, you're bound to lose money! Now I hope I haven't made this sound gloomy, because there's lots of potential to make money no matter how much time you have! It's important to educate yourself on the markets, find a system that works and then go for it. Making money in the stock market is one of the most satisfying feelings you can get. With the right approach and attitude, you could find yourself making a substantial income from trading!
