Hemp protein powder is something I've been taking a lot recently because it's a protein powder that's actually well rounded. In the past I've stayed away from protein powders simply because I don't want to treat my body like it's a muscle building machine only. But most protein powders seem specifically built to give you as much of a power punch of protein as possible. But hemp protein powder actually generally has only 1/3 protein content per serving, leaving 2/3ds or the serving for other nutrients. Hemp in general is a very helpful plant. In the past, hemp was used widely in rope making. Today, hemp is used for things like lotions, and now as protein powder. According to some sources, hemp protein is one of the best protein powders out on the market. That surprised me when I first read it, but if you read on, I think you'll see why it's gaining so much acceptance.
There is a reason why hemp has started being used in cosmetics and health supplement products. Hemp has been shown to be very amazingly rich in nutrients. Hemp protein powder has every single amino acid your body requires, which is difficult to find in a supplement, especially a plant source. Amino acids have been called the building blocks of life, and they're definitely the building blocks of protein. Proteins are generally nothing but just long chains of amino acids all linked together. Did you know that according to the scientific research book "The Hidden Face of God", each cell in your body is producing 2,000 proteins every second? Sounds impossible doesn't it. And there are many different kinds of proteins. Consuming a protein source that has every one of the essential amino acids in it allows your body to make virtually everything it needs, repairing muscles in the process.
Another reason why hemp protein powder is so amazing is because it contains a good balance of Omega fatty acids. If you've read any of my other articles, you know how big of a deal Omega fatty acids are. I'll give you the summary. The two kinds of Omega fatty acids are Omega 3 fatty acids and Omega 6 fatty acids. In the past, the average diet has had a healthy ratio of 1 to 1:1 between Omega 3s and Omega 6s. But in more recent times, due in part to corporate farms and farming methods, the average consumption of Omega 3 fatty acids has gone very low, and well below where is should be. We consume on average 10 times more Omega 6s than Omega 3s. Hemp protein powder is an awesome source of Omega 3s, which are getting more and more difficult to come by.
And yet another reason why hemp protein is seeing such a boost in popularity is because of one thing we talked about earlier, its high fiber content. Now for those who are looking for a muscle building protein powder, you might want to go with the hemp that's higher in protein content where some of the fiber is filtered out. In the long run however, a person really ought to have lots of fiber in their regular diets. There's still quite a bit of protein in the regular version of the hemp protein powder, more than enough to help boost your workouts.
The bottom line is that hemp protein powder is really the best because it's a holistic food. So many of the protein isolates out there can be very unhealthy because of how unnatural they are. They've packed as much protein into their powder as they can, giving your body an overload of one single type of food. But those who have studied any kind of medicine or nutrition know that the body is a machine with many working parts, and the best to build up one single system, like the muscles, you have to support all the other systems as well. Hemp protein powder aids a range of functions in the body and helps boost overall health and wellness. This makes it superior to any other kind of protein powder I've seen.
