Create More Profit With A Display Fridge Display refrigeration is not only used in local convenience stores and grocery markets but also smaller establishments that store and sell food and beverages. While the sole purpose of display fridges is to maximize sales by allowing customers to view the product at a distance, they can also prove profitable by minimizing energy costs. Each time a refrigerator door is opened, cold air escapes and extra power must be used to decrease the temperature to the appropriate level. Display Fridges There are more varieties of display fridges than what are offered to residential homes; however, some display fridges will be purchased as a decorative means to store and chill wine. Upright, deli upright, wrap-around, and island fridges are the most commonly seen display units in stores and all are created to suit a specific need. Island fridges mainly store ice cream and dairy products; whereas upright fridges, often referred to as multi-deck fridges, are used because of their size and allow customers to select items easily. Wrap-around fridges are mainly used for fruits and processed meats, while hi/low upright fridges are used in coffee and ice cream shops for storing cakes, ice cream and other desserts. The doors also vary on each fridge; while they may all have a glass face, some are hinged while others are meant to slide. Sliding-glass doors are better for smaller areas where you need to conserve space. Creating Profit In order to create profit from display refrigeration, you have to select the proper fridge for your establishment. Place it in an area where the products will be seen by customers; to create maximum profit from display fridges in a business that is not food specific, place it close to the checkout counter. The fact that the fridge has a glass door is more than enough reason to catch the attention of a shopper ready to check out. The closer to the cash register or door you place the fridge, the more profit you will gain from it. By adding drinks, candy bars and ice cream to a display fridge in a store that normally does not sell food, it will always generate extra profit. People will always be thirsty, so they will most likely buy from your business now rather than wait until later. Saving money is almost the same as generating profit. By reducing the costs of energy lost each time a covered fridge is opened, you cut a certain percentage off of your electric bill every month. By introducing a display fridge, no one needs to open the door unless they really intend to purchase something. The lights used on the interior should be bright enough to showcase the product but also conserve energy. If the temperature control is properly set, then there should be no energy-loss until the door is opened; this means that every time the door is opened, you have sold a product.
