Manchester, which holds a population of around half a million residents, is one of Britain's more popular cities. It is one of Britain's more progressive cities, and offers plenty to do in the realm of shopping, sports, and other activities. It has a famous nightlife scene that brings in travelers from all over the world. Pubs and other hangouts are often host to both established and upcoming musicians, so there's no shortage of live entertainment.

Whether you're a university student, have an entire family, or somewhere in between, there are a variety of neighborhoods that offer flats to rent in Manchester. Some popular areas include Castlefield, which is near the centre of town, Chorlton, which is a quaint, cultured neighborhood a bit south, Whitefield, which is north of the town centre, and more. Whether you decide to live in the middle of the action near the centre of the city or not, Manchester has a neighborhood that will suit your needs.

If you want to live in a higher end neighborhood but don't have the means to buy a place, then renting in places like Chorlton or Didsbury may be your best bet. There's a very good chance to get nice living arrangements for a great deal, and you'll have plenty of shops and beautiful countryside nearby. Chorlton is a more bohemian in its style, offering locally owned pubs and organic shopping over commercial chains. Didsbury is just the opposite, having a lot of commercial night life and shops. These neighborhoods are clean, full of things to do, and great for single renters, families, and even university students.

However, many university students choose to live in the neighborhoods of Withington or Fallowfield. These areas are popular with students mostly due to the affordable housing. There are also numerous student bars and a very good and speedy transportation system into town via bus. Although these are the most popular student neighborhoods, people attending university can happily and comfortably live in many of Manchester's neighborhoods.

No matter where you live, Manchester has a public transportation system to accommodate your need for a commute. With the two rail stations, Victoria and Piccadilly, and many buses and bus stations, you can pick which neighborhood suits you best without having to worry much about how you're going to get to work on a daily basis.

Manchester has a good mix of neighborhoods that offer either city life or a more suburban feel depending on what you're looking for. There is a place for every budget and lifestyle, and the city is always buzzing with things to do. Living in Manchester is what you make of it. If you want to settle down to a quiet life, a suburban neighborhood is just right for you. But if you'd rather live in a bustling area that has no shortage of things to do, there are plenty of those places as well. Once you live in Manchester, you might not want to leave!
