How To Choose Great Wedding Music

Special occasions call for great music and the only way to achieve this is by having complete control over your playlist. If you control the flow of music from the beginning of your events right until your final guest leaves, you are sure to have the right flow and spirit at your event. If you are planning a wedding, it is especially important for you to create certain moods throughout the afternoon or evening. Music is one of the simplest tools for doing this. If you really want control over your music, avoid using a live band or a DJ. Even if you give them strict instructions, they may only be able to do so much in terms of playing certain songs or following your directions. The best idea is to use an MP3 player over which you have total control. Be sure yours is in good repair by taking it to an iPod Touch repair shop or iPhone repairs specialist. They should have no trouble making sure you are good to go for your big event but you should also consider having a backup ready to go. Just borrow a player from someone else and duplicate the musical content, just in case of a music emergency.

Your first step for setting the tone with music is to create multiple playlists. Since you cannot be sure of the exact time each phase of your event will begin and end, it is better to have a distinctive starting point with a new playlist for each phase. When you transition from one part of the night to another, someone can simply push a button and the mood will be set with the right song selection. Be sure to label your lists in a way that makes sense for everyone so you are not interrupting your fun to make the changes. Put two people in charge of making the changes so you are sure things run smoothly.

When creating your playlist, be sure you have options for each step of the way. If your ceremony is occurring in a non-traditional location or you would rather not pay extra for an on-site musician, choose songs for the wedding ceremony and have a specific playlist for that phase. You can opt for personalized wedding marches instead of just choosing from the standards or you could entertain guests before the wedding with some of your shared favorite songs.

While guests are dining, they will enjoy listening to music, but it should have soothing qualities. Do not start the fast-paced dance music until the dining part of the evening is over. You may even consider instrumental pieces for the meal time like classical music or light jazz.

Finally, when putting together dance choices, combine a mix of personalized songs but also throw in a few fun songs everyone loves. Some brides hate the idea of organized line dances at a wedding, so cut those out if you prefer. But you can still add a few club favorites that are sure to get everyone up and moving.
