The following are some sites of interest for travelers to Morocco: Fes Fes, or Fez, is the most ancient noble city in the country, and it is considered the main spiritual area in Morocco. Fez was Morocco's capital for at least 400 years, and it beautifully blends medieval world charm with modern life. The unique ambiance of Fez can be felt by visitors while exploring the 9,000 narrow streets on foot, and while taking in the views of the city. The historical city of Fes El Bali is a sight not to be passed by during your visit to Fez. You can also check out the Tanneries which showcase Fez's distinctive leather products. Marrakech Situated at the base of the Atlas Mountain range, Marrakech is a royal metropolis. It is thought to be the cultural place in Morocco. In addition, it can claim a number of unique destinations. Majorelle Gardens, a botanical garden full of rare plants and also an Islamic art museum, is an attraction you won't want to miss while you are at Marrakech. If you prefer a busier atmosphere, you can jump on to Djemma el Fna at the heart of the city. Djemma el Fna is the central square of the old city where visitors can get refreshments, souvenirs and enjoy exotic entertainments like snake charming, music and juggling. Essaouira Essaouira will not disappoint beach lovers and people who simply want to escape from the busyness and activities of the big cities. In the 1960's, music icons Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix were common visitors in the beaches of this coastal town. Visitors of Essaouira will also love a leisurely stroll through the ramparts and relish a more relaxed shopping experience at the souks. Merzouga Picturesque scenario of Erg Chebbi sand dunes is offered to the visitors by Merzouga, the desert town. These amazing dunes are the tallest in Morocco, and the sun rises over them in a spectacular show that you don't want to miss. Merzouga is also a great place to go on a camel trek to explore the desert and its wildlife. During springtime, a lake that forms close to Merzouga attracts flocks of pink flamingos. Tangier See for yourself why artists and writers love romantic Tangier. The gateway to Africa and a colorful mixing pot of European and African influences in Tangier. While visiting this port city, you can drop by Place de France. Great place in the ville nouvelle where you can take in the views of the seas is the Place de France. You should also visit the Kasbah which is home to the 17th century palace of the old Sultan. Both Morocco's urban and rural areas have their own beguiling attractions to draw in the most experienced traveler.
