There are many factors that can cause skin to become irritated. A person with sensitive skin is also likely to have irritated skin. Argan oil skin irritation and allergic reactions to certain foods and cosmetics are fairly common causes of skin becoming red and inflamed. Treating irritation of the skin is hardly rocket science. Some treatments are there which you can do by your own. If you have red and irritates skin there are several effective ways to treat it:

Say away from any sources of irritation

The simplest and most basic solution to solving skin irritation is to identify what could be causing your skin to become irritated and avoid it. This will make future skin irritation less likely, too. If you are feeling discomfort only on the skin surface, then the culprit can be any of the creams, lotions, soaps, cosmetic products etc that you may be using now. You should avoid using these items and find alternative products that will not cause similar effects. Allow your skin to return to normal gradually and avoid sun exposure as much as possible for several days.

Wash your skin with a gentle cleanser

Harsh cleansers and soaps can intensify irritation. You will want to use a mild cleanser to gently wash your face. Choose a gentle and mild cleanser that suits your skin and should never cause any harm.

Put a cold compress on it

Cold pressure is effective in relieving redness and swelling, and will help soothe any burning sensation that you might feel. Pressure can be applied on your skin by wrapping a towel around the icepack and if an icepack is not available then a clean and washed towel can be soaked in cool water.

Soak in a warm oatmeal bath

Oatmeal is having such a property that can calm irritated skin . Run a bath with lukewarm water, measure two cups of the oatmeal and add it into the warm water. Be sure to use tepid water and not hot water, as the latter will only dry out and aggravate your skin condition. It is a good idea to soak in a warm bath for 15-20 minutes.

Apply Aloe Vera gel

Aloe Vera is well known for having healing properties on the skin. It is advisable to use natural aloe gel because it is free from fragrances and artificial ingredients. Cover the suffering area with gel.

Be sure to consume plenty of water

People whose skin is dehydrated are more susceptible to skin irritation. While under dehydration, it is not easy to treat it. Be sure to drink sufficient amounts of water daily, which is approximately 64 ounces.

Rub vitamin E into the surface of your skin

Vitamin E is the key to healthy skin, and it can address a wealth of skin ailments. Vitamin E products, like oils or capsules, can be rubbed right onto the skin.

Be careful and look after your skin properly. Using suitable skin products may not be enough for proper skin care but you should also know which treatments are to be used when you experience irritation in your skin.
