Here's How To Burn DVDs The Easy Way!

Today we'll talk about burning your DVD movies, because that topic often arises in our emails. You can find a whole lot of different DVD burning programs out there, but as you may know, many of them don't allow a person to make backups of every type of DVD. To find out more about what you need to copy all your DVD movies, read on.

If you're wondering why ordinary CD burning programs can't copy DVDs, here's why. Because of copyright guards on store-bought movies, a basic program such as Nero or Roxio simply won't be enough. This sort of copyright guard doesn't allow your home computer or laptop to read the disc properly.

That's not to say there's no way though! It's a cinch to copy any DVD you have, if you install the right software. Once it's on your computer it only takes a few clicks of your mouse.

The new software applications on the market for DVD burning are equipped with an over-ride capability for the copyright guard. Because current applications can bypass the guards, your computer can now make sense of the writing on the DVD.

Be aware that, typically, movies use up 8GB of memory on their discs, while a lot of blank DVDs only come with 4.7GB of recording space. But, because more recent software for burning movie discs can just shrink the data to the proper size for the smaller discs, this is not a big concern. You can get 8GB blank discs, but they are a lot more expensive, so this feature is a great one to have in a DVD burning program.

When you decide on your software application for DVD burning, make sure you get one with updating capabilities. That's because every so often new copyright protection systems are invented and the program has to be updated so your computer can find a way around these new systems. The best DVD burning applications will offer this feature pretty much all the time.

And, just in case, I prefer to buy a program that guarantees me my cash back. This way if there's any issue with the program I can get my money refunded. This kind of guarantee also indicates the software company's faith in their program.

There's truly nothing better for movie copies than a good DVD burning software. Install it, click your mouse, make copies of your movies and voila!. Enjoy the show!
