Meditation Techniques For Self Improvement

Here are some self improvement tips to help you achieve your dreams. Using meditation will go a long way in helping you to realize your dreams and help you to understand your purpose within the universe.

Here is a great place to start, and corny as it seems, if you do it everyday you will bring about positive changes in your own life. Use these self improvement ideas to help you on the road to your successful life.

Take about five minutes to half an hour each day and find yourself a comfortable place to sit. Close your eyes, breath deeply and try and relax and calm your thoughts. Let your mind go free and picture yourself alone on the top of a mountain. Feel love, warmth and security all around you. Next imagine that you are all powerful and that your thoughts alone can change the universe. Change anything you like and enjoy the powerful feeling that this gives you.

Picture all the power of the universe flowing through your body. Tell yourself that you are the universe and the universe is you. Think about how you are feeling. You could feel scared, energized, enlightened or estatic.

Getting the concept above may take a while to get into, but this is what the Zen Masters are constantly working on to enrich their minds, and this state of mind is called Nirvana. Don't worry you don't need to become a Buddhist monk to do this, but just the concept of meditation has helped people in all walks of life.

Don't worry if you don't achieve enlightenment straight away, as it is the concept of doing this practice, which will help you to make sense of everything around you, and give you a powerful understanding of your purpose in this world. The Zen Buddhists spend their whole lives trying to perfect this state of mind.

As time goes on and you get better at relaxing and meditating, start to analyze yourself and think about what you would like to change about yourself. Imagine swapping all those bad habits for good habits. Think about what you want to achieve in your life and what type of life you want for you and your family. Imagine that you have the power to change your life for the better.

Writing down your goals on paper will also help you to visualize what you want for yourself. Take some time and write down every thing you can think of that you want, and refer to this list often to reaffirm your mission.
