Barlas Baylar Catching The Eyes Of Keyshawn Johnson?

By : Paul Wise

A superstar athlete is typically judged only by his or her performance on the field and what little bit of his or her personality is shown on and off the field. As a society we don't mean to judge someone we don't know personally, but when they are on our television every week, it's only natural that it happens. Look at Super Bowl winner Keyshawn Johnson. We, the NFL fans, know him as an incredible wide receiver who was over-top athletic, durable and extremely volatile. That's all we knew him as, but guess what? He actually had a life outside of football, as hard as that is to believe. He has a show on A&E called Keyshawn Johnson: Tackling Design. He experiments with interior design, a hobby of his. Is Keyshawn Johnson the next Barlas Baylar? Well, no, not likely. But he may be using some of his furniture and lighting.

Yes Keyshawn is a man who caused rifts between himself and coaches as well as a man who loves interior decoration. Johnson says Fendi and Armani Casa home collections are some of his inspirations and he has designed his home with the natural aesthetics of Barlas Baylar like furniture. The show is an excellent example of someone transitioning nicely from the young warrior days to a new beginning in a new career. It shows us just how far off we were with our judgement of someone. Sure he was an arrogant prima-donna on the field but that doesn't me we have an inkling of an idea of what he's like off the field. He may not be Barlas Baylar but he's making a transition that few have made.

The show does have to bleep out a curse word here and there but on the whole it is quite tame. Johnson still exudes confidence and arrogance but when it's coming out in terms of interior design, well it's a lot more tame. The calmness of the show is almost unsettling for sports fans and fans of Johnson but it is the reality of a retired football star. However you view him you have to give the man so credit. He's taking on a new role, trying to work in a field with names like Robert Denning, Georges Geffroy and Barlas Baylar, not Peyton Manning, Adrian Peterson and Brandon Marshall. Not bad for being one of three guys in the NFL to reach 600 catches before playing in 120 games.
