Are We Sitting Comfortably, Then Let Us Play

Anyone who has had to sit for any length of time at a keyboard will certainly know the benefits of having something soft to sit on. Indeed, piano bench cushions are an absolute must if some degree of comfort is to be felt. Although these come in many styles, some people would prefer the more classical styles which compliment the instrument itself. Even a piano stool can become uncomfortable if not suitably padded so making sure that it is suitable before purchasing is a good idea.

The padding that is used for this kind of seating arrangement comes in many varieties and finishes. Even those with embroidered designs on them look great too. These give a touch of inspiration to the player since they can often be musical scores of some wonderful artist from the past and will surely encourage the novice to have a go at this piece. But people who are more inclined towards the traditional look can opt for pads made with leather or plush materials in all kinds of rich shades which certainly compliment the room in which the instrument is sitting.

There are other accoutrements which add to the whole experience too and these can include some rather stylish lamps to give a wonderful ambience to the room. These slim line designs are meant to show the player what they are doing while not detracting from the piece that is being played. These too come in several forms from ones that sit atop the instrument to floor standing varieties which can be used in all different situations.

Then there are the wonderfully made wooden cabinets specifically made to hold sheet music to keep it in good order. The narrow drawers are deep enough to keep many sheets in but separated into composers, styles or dates etc. Of course, these can be used for all kinds of documents but they do look very smart in a music room or home where there is an abundance of sheet music available.

For the instrument itself there are covers which are made to stock designs. These are great for particularly dusty or dirty areas or where the public has easy access to the instrument. Those with an unusual style or make of instrument can have the cover made to fit perfectly so there is no excuse to leave that wonderful instrument at the mercy of the elements.

Indeed, an instrument which is on public display for some reason attracts unwarranted attention. There are few who can resist having a play on the keyboard but this does no good to the instrument at all. Even central heating and air conditioning ducts play havoc with the atmosphere so it is a good idea to make sure the whole thing is protected from outside interference of any kind.

These instruments bring a lot of joy and pleasure to whoever is within earshot. It would seem a shame then not to give them all the attention they deserve and take care of them as the treasured possessions that they are.
