This technique is more advantageous as oppose to books since this visual training enables the person to properly listen to the music being played. This then helps the individual become more precise when they start practicing since they have a more concrete idea as to how the end result should sound like. Moreover, there are numerous online programs that offer books, software and videos that allow the person to learn piano playing on their own - without compromising too much of their time and money. A more causal way of learning to play the piano is by ear. This is a practical way of doing it if one has an issue with reading musical notation. There are several videos, tapes as well as books that can coach a person on how to play by ear. This is usually done by playing repetitive notes numerous times till the individual can finally replicate the melody.
