Getting your catering business noticed locally can be very important to your business growth. Starting any new business can be overwhelming and difficult if you are doing everything right. But there are some things you can do to help keep you headed in the right direction. Advertising is a terrific way to promote your business, but that isn't the one thing that will gain notoriety and attention for your growing company. Person to person is a reputation builder you can most definitely count on to bring in new and repeat business. In the early stages plan having several promotional platters with a sample variety of the dishes you may offer. Set a target niche for what types of clients you are aiming for. For example, if you're mainly starting out wanting to provide banquet type services to small and medium sized businesses, then get started by allowing a little room in your budget to treat them to a sample of what you are offering. Complimentary samples and even treating some of your perspective clients to a small amount of what you are offering can certainly give them some incentive toemploy your services. While your dishes should always be their very best, the service itself can make or break an event rather quickly. Always strive to teach your servers to smile, smile, smile. Those who are smiling and appear happy tend to project that onto those around them and the atmosphere can produce a world of difference at any function. Just imagine should you be at a function and the servers and personalities appeared grumpy and stressed out. It can make guests feel uncomfortable and uneasy, which could lead perspective clients to turn to someone else for their next engagement. So if you want catering jobs that get you noticed, you have to project your company through great service, smiling faces, and excellent cuisine for the occasion. And don't be afraid to allow guests to overhear you letting your team know they do a fantastic job. A little of praise and encouragement can significantly help when it comes to promoting your passion. Alternatively if you do not like working long hours for low pay then catering is probably not the career for you. If you want to be out enjoying your friends in the evenings and weekends then you'll not enjoy catering.
