Hard Time Sticking To Your Diet?

Struggling to shed some weight but you are having a hard time with sticking to your new diet? You're not alone!

The truth is that we all struggle with cravings that seek to sabotage our dieting efforts. The reality is that it's difficult to maintain consistency with your diet, especially in the beginning, but a few simple things to do that bring you back into the driver's seat and conquer your dieting from the start.

Here are a few problems you are familiar with:

You miss your midnight munchies. A habit is a hard thing to break especially in the beginning. First, acknowledge that this craving is normal - not just for you but about 80% of people. If you do something every night, it doesn't matter who you are, you will feel the same cravings until the routine is eliminated.

Go ahead and enjoy a snack, but instead of serving yourself a "normal" serving - cut it down by two-thirds and follow it up with a large glass of water or tea. This ability to enjoy some of the things you love will not tempt you to break off your diet all together and send you off on some binge. The idea is to slowly control your eating habits, as opposed to your eating habits controlling you.

If you're always feeling hungry there are a few thing you can do. Drink a full glass of water when you begin to feel the stomach growling. You can mix it up a bit and try some seltzer water with lemon. And wait about five minutes. Yes, normally people ask you to wait ten. But c'mon, who's gonna wait that long? Better that you don't deprive yourself of that feeling to taste something. A glass of water will help give you that full feeling which should kick in after a few minutes.

Alcohol: You enjoy your vodka just as much as the next person. You could consider taking a carb-blocker to aid in blocking absorbing carbs and settle in as unused energy. Or you can ask for a vodka with extra ice and diet soda. This will ultimately cut down the calories. You can also try a non-alcoholic beer. A few new tasty ones hit the market all the time. Try one. After awhile, you won't taste the difference.

The problem may also be that you are not that into health food or health food snacks. That's okay, most of us aren't either. If you rather have a burrito than a fruit drink, consider mixing up your food intake and stimulate your taste buds with hot, spicy or tangy flavors.

Consider this: When it comes to weight loss, you are not alone. Many people feel the same hungry sensations when they are changing their routine. Yet, small steps can go a long way to making sure you stick to your diet long enough to have enough success that will make you want to continue your weight loss efforts.

Why let your natural weakness and daydreaming of losing weight control your life? Get serious about weight loss and see the difference in your body and attitude. It is not that difficult once you decide and "see" the new you in the mirror.
