It is raining outside, and you are sitting idle with your kids inside the house. You might be worrying about the aftermath of the rain; something might go wrong with the drainage pipes, and you will have to call a plumber. Plumbers will solve the problem that you have later, but the present dilemma is something else. It is boredom. For the children, rainy days get very boring. After all, they cannot go outside to play and discover new games. Well, let us face it. They are indoors, very bored and you are staring at their bored faces. Time to do some exciting stuff... There are many activities that will keep your children occupied, and will make sure that they enjoy the rainy day at its best. Turn to the toy bank that the kids might have in their room. Shuffle through different toys and find out the ones that have not seen the light of the day for quite some time. Apart from a few particular ones, the children might have forgotten these old toys. Take out a few toys, and invent a story to play with. Let your imagination take over. For instance, you can use blocks to make a play house for Barbie, or you can have a car race with toy cars. You can also choose to play online. Online game sites are an easy way of keeping the kids occupied. Not only they will mean a fun experience to the children, they will also relieve your burden of having a strict supervision on the type of games your child is playing. The variety of games is just endless. If your kids tend to get tired of one particular game, you can switch to another. This can continue for as long as the rainy day lasts. Moreover, you can continue with your house chores simultaneously as well. You can also turn the rainy day into a movie day. Look at your collection of DVD's, or rent another family movie from a nearby store. Put it on, and turn off the lights to create a home theater. Have a treat such as popcorn and soft drinks, and enjoy watching the movie with your children. If you have little girls in your house, a baking session will be great! You can involve them in baking small cupcakes, muffins, cookies, or other treats for the little angels. They will enjoy giving you a hand, and will get to learn some baking as well. Board games are an evergreen source of entertainment for the family. They are equally fun for each member. Teach the younger ones, and let the older ones join in too. You can play and enjoy a good family time while you do so. Have an array of different board games, and your children can play for hours. There is a limitless variety of ideas that can help you make the best of a rainy day. Be creative and imaginative, and it will surely turn out to be an exciting day with your kids.
