Local online marketing tips seem to be everywhere we look. Search the subject and you'll be bombarded by a billion results. Weeding through these results can be the hard part. Where you get your advice today can be more important then the advice itself. Taking the word of a website trying to sell you advertising may not be the way to go. After all, they have a vested interest in your purchasing their program or ad space. They couldn't sell you the things that won't work, if their trying to sell you something that fits in this category. Getting the most for our advertising dollar is a challenge today. There are a multitude of websites out there, that will promise results and then produce none. Looking past the many diversions and false truths that are presented to us in such a perfect package is a difficult undertaking. But once we've gotten through the dunes we'll start to see the beach. A localized marketing campaign for a service needs to be targeted in that area. If you are offering chimney cleaning in Boston, site views in Alaska or Canada can't really help your business. Getting targeted traffic is not the same as site views. People from your demographic are the ones you need to get to, just blasting to the net will not suffice. Getting your site listed with the major search engines is the first thing you have to accomplish. Using your town or cities' name in your title as well as your keywords will bring your search engine results to a more targeted group of potential customers. Branding your product or service with a memorable name can also jar the memory when a prospect is in need of what you sell. Spending enough time searching for specifically targeted advertising and making this an ongoing effort, will eventually show results. A mailing list with all previous customers should also be maintained, and scheduled mailings should be sent as a reminder that you're still there and still the right one for the job. Make sure your website is perfect. Your competition is surely making theirs perfect. To compete in this market, you better keep up with Mr.Jones. Make sure to follow up your emails and ask customers how they arrived at your site. This will also help you to know what works and what doesn't when adjusting your ad budget. Local online marketing tips are a dime a dozen, the advice of most professionals will tell you to spend a few dollars.
