The company that manufactures Alpinestars sportbike motorcycle boots has been in existence since 1963. Out on the road, motorcyclists need as much protection as they can possibly get. Although this Italian company has been making protective boots for more than 45 years and has seen numerous innovations in technology, its underlying philosophy towards supplying functional, innovative boots has not changed over this time. Alpinestars manufacture an amazing range of boots for the motorcyclist, designed in a multitude of styles and priced to suit any pocket. Many of the boots on offer are manufactured using modern materials and utilize up to date manufacturing techniques. Common to many boots from this manufacturer are high tech, durable micro fiber uppers which offer a high degree of flexibility. The boots offer maximum protection as well as performance. The protection comes in the form of the double injected upper which shields the toe, heel, ankle and shin from heavy impact while at the same time keeping the abrasive forces to a minimum. The inner consists of a double injected panel connected to the heel support which is hidden by the outer shell and rises up over the ankle. The polymide lining dries quickly when wet and consists of a laminate of high density open cell foam. The padding of which is designed to absorb impact around the foot. Many of Alpinestars sportbike motorcycle boots have air vents around the ankle and feature a unique mesh that covers the heel and toe allowing the wearer's foot to breathe whilst at the same time repelling moisture. The inside leg of the boot features a zipper which has an extra wide hooked flap that is both comfortable and is wide enough to slip on easily. The specially designed compound making up the rubber sole uses a structured shank as reinforcement and renders good support for the arches. Apart from motorcycle boots for general use, Alpinestars have produced a very high quality boot for racetrack use. This boot, the Supertech R Vented Boot, like many other boots from this manufacturer, features a separate boot liner fitting inside the main outer boot. This inner liner is formed from a breathable, lightweight micro fiber substance. A built in ankle brace uses plastic inner and outer torsion bars padded with gel for ankle protection and to disperse excessive energy loads upon impact. Each light weight boot weighs less than a quart can of oil. The boots are designed specifically to be used with Alpinestars leathers where the inner portion of the bootie fits over the lower leg of the leathers. This bootie can also be worn under the leathers if needed. The boots use correct size fitting and can be rapidly pulled on using the speed draw lace system on the inner lining together with the zipper on the outside boot which also has a stretch material flap on the bottom that prevents the zipper from getting stucked. The racing boot comes with a fairly steep price tag, but if a rider is competing on the track then safety must surely be of higher priority than cost. Alpinestars sportbike motorcycle boots are highly prized as can be seen by the number of track stars that use them.
