Hydrogen Peroxide Therapy

Hydrogen peroxide therapy, which has also been called oxygen therapy, is a relatively simple alternative medicine practice involving either ingesting hydrogen peroxide, or injecting it intravenously into the body, which will cause a release of free radicals of oxygen which the body then uses to help fight off harmful and fatal diseases. I'll give you a little background. Hydrogen peroxide has a chemical makeup of H2O2, and is very similar to water except for its strong acidic nature. When hydrogen peroxide comes into contact with things and reacts with them, the extra atom of oxygen breaks off and the rest of the compound turns into water.

Even though only discovered more recently in the 1800s, hydrogen peroxide actually is naturally occurring. Oxygen from the ozone and the upper atmosphere sometimes combine with water molecules and then fall to the earth during storms, releasing it into the environment. Many studies have shown that hydrogen peroxide is very helpful to plants. Not only is it antifungal, but it acts as an oxygen supplement to plants, and oxygenates the soil. Many gardeners spray it on the leaves of their plants and add it into the water that they use for watering. But that's beyond the scope of this article.

There are two methods of hydrogen peroxide therapy. One is to simply drink diluted food grade hydrogen peroxide. Food grade hydrogen peroxide is much stronger at 35% than your local grocery store 3% variety. You'll still have to greatly dilute food grade hydrogen peroxide in order to drink it. The other method is intravenous injection right into the tissue of the body. The reason why this is done is because many harmful diseases and conditions, such as cancer and aids, are anaerobic, meaning that they can't handle an oxygen rich environment. Studies have shown that when hydrogen peroxide is injected in large enough quantities around a cancerous area, the cancer cells die. When introduced into the blood stream, this form of therapy seems to have great results against almost every ailment. It was first used in the bloodstream in the early 1900's to fight against influenza. Research has shown that intravenous hydrogen peroxide therapy has been effective in the fight against late stage cancers, where other methods are no longer effective.

The benefits of drinking food grade hydrogen peroxide is that it is effective against removing toxins from the system. Adding a few drops to a glass of pure water an hour before a meal will allow the stomach to process the hydrogen peroxide and utilize it in the body. Studies have shown that many people do not get enough oxygen in their breathing, and a correlation has been drawn between people who have shallow breathing and cancer formation.

A few different fears have started popping up in recent years. When hydrogen peroxide is released into the body, it breaks down into an oxygen atom, and a water molecule. The oxygen atom that is released is a charged free radical. Because of that, many people are wary, since free radicals in the body are known to cause cancer and things like premature aging. However, research has shown that the body actually uses these free radicals to fight against bacteria and disease, and actually produces its own hydrogen peroxide readily when it needs it. So while these fears are understandable, they are mostly unsubstantiated. The case can definitely be made that one should never overuse hydrogen peroxide, either orally or intravenously, but that is the case for almost anything. Too much of a good thing is almost always bad. As a rule, unless directed by a doctor, you shouldn't give yourself intravenous therapy of any kind. Always seek the help of a qualified medical practitioner.
