The Facts About Anti Aging Creams

[Valid RSS feed]  Category Rss Feed - http://www.articlesbacklink.com/rss.php?rss=200
By : David Cowley    Are the claims made by makers of anti-aging creams are real, or merely hype? With the amount of advertising done on television you would think that you will look young once more and that your wrinkles will be a thing of the past with just a simple application of the Scientifically Proven skin care product.

Do the advertisers always deliver on its promises? Of course not. How can you repair 20 or 40 years of damage to your skin over night? It took years to get to where you are today and it will take time to repair the damaged caused by sunlight, gravity, stress, pollution and the effects of time.

The primary ingredient of most skin care products is retinal. It can provide users with a rejuvenated look thanks to its being able to stimulate the growth of skin cells while also reducing dark spots. Another ingredient is alpha hydroxy acids as well as beta hydroxy acids and is used as a mild chemical peel.

I believe that a two-prong attack on skin aging problem is required to maximize the effects. After all you are what you eat. Why would you use a anti aging skin care product that revitalizes the skin if you do not also take something that would improve circulation to the skin to help support and maintain that new revitalized look? If the body is not supplying the proper nutrients and oxygen to the damage skin cells then any effects of the anti aging skin care products would be short lived.

Common Vitamins and over the counter products can help with aging such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Aloe Vera, Beta Carotene, Olbas, Salicylic Acid, and Tea Tree Oil.

Vitamin A is a protector vitamin and is necessary for maintaining healthy skin, bones, and teeth. It is also important for the proper development and health of the eyes.

Vitamin C is nature's protective nutrient, essential for defending the body against pollution and infection and enhances the bodies' immune system. Take 1,000 to 5,000 mg daily.

Vitamin D is manufactured in the skin following direct exposure to sunlight. Many studies show that Vitamin D production decreases in older people and in those who are housebound. Vitamin D is needed by the body to absorb calcium, which makes your bones stronger and helps prevent factures.

Aloe Vera will help rejuvenate and tone skin all over. A naturally cooling gel, the Aloe Vera botanical ingredients work together to stimulate the blood circulation and naturally soften the skin.

Beta Carotene helps protect Vitamin C from oxidation, which enables it to perform at optimum eficiency. Symptoms of Beta Carotene deficiency include ache, dry dull hair, dry skin and thickened scaly skin on the palms and soles of the feet.

Olbas is used to increase the circulaton in skin by opening up the skin pores. Olbas oil has been used for its healing properties in cultures around the world for centuries.

Salicylic Acid also helps breakdown blackheads and whiteheads. It also helps cut down the shedding of cells lining the hair follicles clogging the pores of the skin. Salicylic acid is used as a mild abrasive to chemically exfoliate the skin to encourage the peeling of the top layer and to prevent a build-up of dead skin cells which combine with the oil to block pores.

Tea Tree Oil has natural anti-inflammatory properties and helps sooth and treat problem skin. It is used to help tighten pores and firm skin for a more youthful, healthy appearance.

Some of the herbs and supplements on the market today can react with medication prescribed by your doctor. Always talk to your health care professional prior to starting any type of home treatment.

Always consult your doctor before using this information.
