Illness is something that is practically unavoidable these days. All around you there are bad elements that cause you harm. When people are asked what is the deadliest disease they know, most of them answer 'cancer' or 'cardiac arrest'. These are, of course, obvious answers. All people know the dangers of cancer and cardiac arrest. But did you know that stress is as dangerous to people as cancer-causing carcinogens and heart ailment-causing fatty food? Stress is something immaterial and intangible; it can't be helped and it can't be measured. But there is one fact that is sure about stress: These days, it is unavoidable. You get stress from family, friends, work and environment. Some say that coping with stress is the only way one can succeed in life. Many people get to cope with the many stressors of every day life. But of course, there are exceptions. When a person gives in to stress, he or she will eventually experience anxiety or panic attacks. Fortunately, treatment for anxiety and panic attacks is possible.

One treatment for anxiety and panic attacks is preventing stress from piling up. Stress, in essence, is inevitable, but its impact can be relatively reduced. How do you do this? The answer is simple: Pamper yourself. You should treat yourself to a relaxing day each week if you want to lower your stress levels. This is achievable by going to the spa, getting a massage, doing yoga or listening to music. Do whatever is therapeutic for you. By chilling out, you relatively reduce your stress levels, which, in turn, would keep you safe from panic attacks. Another treatment for anxiety and panic attacks is to take herbal supplements. There are many herbal supplements in the market today that claim to reduce stress. Passion Flower, Valerian Root and Lemon Balm are herbs that can reduce stress. You can also try aroma-therapy. To calm your senses, take a whiff of oils like eucalyptus and lavender. This way, you can get relaxed in the middle of the working day.

If you are already experiencing a panic attack and want to know how to get through it. All you have to do is calm down. Moderate your breathing. To help you in this, try breathing into a paper bag. Inhaling aroma-therapeutic oils can also assist in making you calm. The best treatment for anxiety and panic attacks really is prevention, but sometimes having a panic attack is inevitable. Just always remember to relax yourself when having a panic attack. Do not let your attack deteriorate. Make sure you still breathe properly. You cannot risk oxygen deprivation which can result in fainting or worse, major brain damage. Keep yourself safe from panic and anxiety attacks. Put in some effort to reduce your stress levels. This will ensure you balance your life. There are many ways to relax and many ways to let out steam. Keeping yourself sane is as important as keeping your body healthy. Be safe− learn to chill.
