Why Diet Fads Don't Work! They Set You Up To Let You Down!

By : Ashley B    Maybe you have been there. You start the latest fad diet that everyone seems to be on. It goes well for a while, you lose some weight, but then suddenly you are off the diet, have given up and are gaining weight again. Why? Is it because you are lazy and are not willing to do what it takes to lose the weight and keep it off? Maybe, maybe not. It depends on the person.

What about the people out there with a tremendous amount of willpower? Why do they fail?

I believe it is because they do not have the right tools and they do not view weight loss in a way that will help them succeed. Most likely, people think there's a trick to losing weight, and that it is a short term commitment. Cutting this or that from your diet has to work, right?

Wrong.

So what REALLY causes people to fall off the weight loss wagon?

It could be because the diet you were on was set up for you to fail. Perhaps the people pushing these fad diets on those who are desperate to lose weight are in it for the money they make off of memberships, food costs, videos, books and so on and so forth. They know there are people out there looking for a quick fix so do they really care if you are successful on their diet?
Obviously not, because there is no quick fix for losing weight. I am certain you did not gain the weight all in one day or week. So you should not expect to lose it that quickly, either.

The first thing that you should notice about a lot of these diets is that they require you to cut out a certain food group. Most often it is carbohydrates.

Eventually, you will get tired of not being able to have ANYTHING from that forbidden food group and you will give in to your craving. Then, before you know it, you are off the diet and gaining weight back. I know how it is, I have been through it. But now I know the key too success.

And what about diet pills and so called miracle juices? People who even buy into that stuff are setting themselves up for a letdown. Can a pill or a drink get rid of all that fat? NO. Maybe you will lose a little weight from it, but chances are it was not fat and was probably an unhealthy way to lose weight. It could have just been water weight.

But eating healthy and exercising can get rid of the FAT. Why do SO many people not understand that?

I think by eating from all, yes ALL food groups, it is possible for any and everyone to lose weight. Not just lose it, but keep it off. You don't have to cut out ANY food group - that takes some of the stress away right there. Doesn't it drive you crazy not being able to eat a certain food?

What makes more sense - eating moderate amounts from all food groups and making healthy choices, or eating from only one food group, maybe drinking a so called miracle diet juice or taking a pill?

I can't believe the millions of dollars made off of diet pills and other similar products that do NOT work long term.
I guess it is the fault of both the diet and the person who falls for the gimmick. Quit falling for something that will not work. Please! Do yourself a favor!

The key to weight loss is moderation, not deprivation.

Remember that.

Good luck getting to a healthier you!!
